ID at the door
Guests must be 19 or older, the legal age for gambling in British Columbia. At the door, each guest carries valid government-issued photo ID plus a secondary piece of ID.
Since June 26, 2023, everyone entering a B.C. casino shows government-issued photo ID. Security scans it against the list of people who may not enter, such as those enrolled in Game Break. For people who are let in, the system does not save personal information.
Accepted photo ID includes a B.C. or North American driver's licence, the B.C. Services Card, a BCID card and a Canadian or international passport. A permanent resident card and a Secure Certificate of Indian Status card also qualify. So do membership cards issued by First Nations, Metis or Inuit bands.
Door checklist
All five posted conditions are met. Entry may still be refused for any reasonable cause.
House rules
Three groups are not admitted: people who appear intoxicated, people wearing clothing or accessories with gang-related graphics, and people enrolled in Game Break. Game Break enrolment is checked when ID is scanned at the door. Outside alcohol, drugs and weapons are not allowed inside. Unauthorized photography, filming and live streaming are not permitted on the premises.
No formal dress code is published. The clothing rule that does appear concerns gang-related graphics, not style or formality. Guests unsure about a specific item can call Guest Services at 250-561-2421 before the visit.
The Encore card
The Guest Services desk sits to the left of the entrance doors. The Encore rewards card is issued there, at the same desk. It earns points on slot machines and on table games.
Redemption happens at a slot machine, with the card inserted and a 4-digit PIN entered. Without the PIN, the card alone does not release points. Unredeemed points expire after a year. Guest Services answers at 250-561-2421 or toll-free at 1-866-561-2421, and the same desk houses the lottery centre.
Tickets and prizes
The casino's over 500 slot machines are all ticket-in, ticket-out. Three Ticket Redemption Machines turn tickets into cash, and an ATM is on site. Slot attendants in navy blue uniforms pay out jackpots, exchange bills and refill machines.
Lottery prizes are cashed at the lottery centre in the Guest Services desk, up to $24,999. Tickets of $2,000 or more are validated Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Validation takes 2 pieces of government-issued photo ID showing a recent photo, date of birth and signature.
Field notes
- Entry is refused to anyone who appears intoxicated, wears gang-related graphics or is enrolled in Game Break.
- Lottery tickets of $2,000 or more need 2 pieces of government-issued photo ID again at validation, even after the ID check at the door.
